Trip Ends With Sweet Memories !!!
Often dubbed as the Indian Matterhorn, Mt. Shivling is a part of Gangotri group of peaks. At an elevation of 6543m, Mt. Shivling is a twin-summit, which by the way looks single when viewed from Gaumukh. Covered with layers of snow, this gigantic mountain peak forms the western gateway for the lower Gangotri Glacier and is located just opposite the triple-peak Bhagirathi Massif. The trek to Mt. Shivling is a challenging one and requires ample of efforts if one decides to attempt summit bid. A 33-days trek might get hectic but is worth every effort as it allows witnessing the unexplored beauty of Garhwal Himalaya. Walking along the meandering River Ganga, the splendid views of snow-clad mountains, visit to the one of the Chardham - Gangotri, challenging gradients for summit bid and the pitching of tents under the open sky are the highlights of the Mt. Shivling Trek.
